Description
Byline: Amanat Ali Abid, Amjed Ali, Syed Waseem Hassan and Muhammad Asif ABSTRACT: Application of increasing rates of nitrogen and phosphorus delayed the number of days taken to tesseling, silking and maturity of the crop where as, with the increasing rate of nitrogen and phosphorus application, significantly increased leaf area per plant, leaf dry weight and stem dry weight. Nitrogen and phosphorus application significantly affected the number of grains rows per cob. The maximum number of grains rows (16.42) per cob and maximum grain weight (120.90) was recorded in the treatment where, nitrogen and phosphorus was applied @ 120, 100 kg ha-1, respectively. Maximum grain weight (120.90) was noted from the plot fertilized @ 200, 10 kg N and Mg ha-1. The highest yield of 15.27 t ha-1 was recorded from the plot where nitrogen and Phosphorus was applied @ 120, 100 kg ha-1, respectively
